Montreal, November 2, 2010 – In response to the demand from notaries needing a simplified system for submission of documents to the Land Registry, Fortsum Business Solutions, a member of IT products and services leader GFI Solutions Group Inc. (“GFI Group”), is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new SURF (Système Universel de Réquisition Facilitée) software.
Fortsum has organized a dynamic launch campaign to promote its new tool. Throughout the three-month period following the launch, clients will be able to sign up and install the SURF software for free through the SMB Portal.
Because it uses new technology which recognizes notarial terminology, SURF makes pre-established document templates, tags, and merge fields unnecessary. The documents created are sent through secure servers, and the software’s interface is bilingual, enabling document management in both French and English. This means greater simplicity and efficiency for notaries, who will be able to send their documents directly to SIRF (Système Informatique du Régistre Foncier [Web-Based Land Registry Information System]) from Microsoft®Word in a matter of minutes: this new software is a significant time-saver indeed.
SURF is being introduced after a month and a half of pilot testing conducted at five notarial offices which, until now, had never submitted land documents electronically. During this period, more than 175 documents were created and sent to the Land Registry using this software. At its official launch during the Cours de perfectionnement de la Chambre des notaires du Québec, which took place from October 28 to 30, SURF sparked the interest of the professionals in attendance and was extremely well-received.
